Mission

My mission is to share my ideas about sustainability of the human body, relationships, communities and the planet through fitness, yoga and nutrition. Investing in one’s health is not a luxury, it’s a necessity; we must take care of our body as it is truly the only place we have to live. Healthy choices are the gateway to what I want most for my clients, my loved ones, and myself: long term happiness and health.

Philosophy

I believe that human beings need physical activity every single day; young or old; thin or heavy; strong or building their strength; no exceptions. This is not simply for the body, but for the mind and soul’s benefit as well. I support GMO labelling, shopping local, the organic and slow food movements and making educated nutrition choices well beyond the number of calories, carbs and grams of fat in each serving. Food choices, toxic food ingredients, nutrition deficiency and lack of exercise can cause or contribute to many chronic diseases so it is important to make healthy life choices.

Me

I am a recovering corporate adrenalin junkie, sugar addict and yo-yo dieter who has struggled with health challenges for longer than I can remember. With both a family and personal history of gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, diabetes, cancer, heart attack and stroke I have experienced a lifetime of hands on learning. Over the years I tried every diet, supplement and gimmick out there. Now I am a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist & Yoga Teacher. I have gone from burnout to being back in business on my own terms with the launch of Lotus & Lettuce.

Passion

I am most passionate about my family, especially my husband, daughter and son, and our dogs. I thrive on adventure, learning new things, people watching and travel to exotic destinations; my spirit soars and I am at my happiest when all these four things come together. Throw in some food— everything about it— grocery shopping, creating recipes, cooking and most of all eating and the bliss meter shoots up. Keeping it all in balance is where my intensely critical need for yoga enters into the equation. But nothing, absolutely nothing is quite like the passion I have for extreme weight loss transformation.
